Living with Multiple Sclerosis

“Every day, three Canadians are diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and currently an estimated 75,000 Canadians live with the disease. MS is 3.5 times more likely to affect women than men and most often strikes people in their 20s and 30s, just when they’re completing their education, establishing careers, and starting a family.

On this episode of GirlTalk I sit down with Nadine Konyk and Brandy Schmidt of the MS Society Manitoba Division to discuss the signs and symptoms, how it’s diagnosed, treatment options and support programs available, how to manage the disease and more.

The MS Society is 97% self-funded and funds $10 million in research each year. Since its inception in 1948, the MS Society of Canada has contributed $110 million to research.”
