“MY MOMMY HAS MS”
Bridget & Caitlin Anderson
Thursday, 7 pm Eastern/5 pm NM
MSstationRadio.com [LIFE]

“Caitlin Anderson was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS) in September of 2006. At the time, her daughter Bridget Simpson was just 5 years old and beginning kindergarten. Caitlin and her husband David Simpson decided to tell Bridget about MS right away. You see, since Bridget was 2, her best friend Marigold’s family also had lots of experience with MS. Marigold’s uncle is living with MS as well, although his condition has moved into a fast moving Secondary Progressive. This family, fondly known as the Andersimps, had been volunteering for the NMSS for a couple of years before Caitlin was diagnosed herself.
Join us as Caitlin and Bridget share a conversation about children’s experience living with a parent who has been diagnosed with MS. Bridget will share her thoughts, read a book written for her by her mom’s cousin, and answer questions gathered from Multiple Sclerosis websites and forums.”

Caitlin Anderson
Life Coach & Motivational Speaker
“Hi, I’m Caitlin Laura Anderson: first born, left-handed, Scorpio, year of the Snake, Unitarian Universalist, PhD, life coach and consultant, wife, mother, and since 2006 living with Multiple Sclerosis.”
There are many other categories I’d rather claim membership in … loyal friend, listener, problem solver, artist in training with lots of interests, spiritual in my own way, queen of connecting people and ideas, intentional parent …
These days Multiple Sclerosis raises her head more often than I’d like. Primary Progressive MS is almost the smallest of the four “kinds” of this autoimmune disease. Or shall we call it a condition? It’s chronic and relentless. I do my best each day. That’s all anyone can ask or expect.
Am working on the metaphor of living with “the companion of a chronic illness.” How’s that for a nice way to think about it?
My goal in work and life is to help others maintain (or find) balance – and specifically, focus on what keeps each of us centered. What keeps YOU centered?”

“The Show Must Go On”
Host Amy Gurowitz Interviews KRISTIE SALERNO KENT

Since childhood, Kristie Salerno Kent dreamed of a career in the entertainment industry and received her BFA in Theater from Syracuse University.
She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999 and her lifelong dream of a stage career in theater seemed out of reach. After several years of denial, Kristie decided that the word dreams may end with an M and an S but her dreams don’t end because of her MS.
She is now a Singer/Songwriter/Producer and the CEO of her own production company, Whirlaway Productions, LLC. Now she combines her passion for music and the arts with her desire to help others. In October 2006, Kristie fulfilled one of her dreams by writing, recording, and producing her debut solo CD, “Believe”.

by Chris Tatevosian
Life Interrupted: It’s Not all about Me, is a candid and humble memoir about one young man’s diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis and how his ‘poor-me’ attitude cost him his marriage. Chris hopes others might learn from his mistakes to communicate more effectively and not allow disability and low self-worth to destroy relationships. Chris also writes about his faith in God, and his new wife, Jane, who he married in April of 2007.
Towards Understanding
by Author Lillian Brummet
Follow the author as she battles her past demons, raises her voice in anger, discovers self-awareness and recovers from an intense relationship bordering on obsession. You will witness the healing, as she becomes aware of the value of her life and falls deeply in love with a wholesome man. Finally, able to see beyond herself, she starts to question society and endeavors to understand others. She discovers a love for nature and a dedication to the health of the Earth.
